Three establishments are split between Flanders, near Dunkirk, and the Avesnois Regional Nature Park, in the east of the department.
La Colme Nature, in Cappelle-Brouck, presents itself as the only 2-star naturist site in Flanders. Its 44 pitches, equipped with water and electricity, welcome tents, caravans, motorhomes and mobile homes, with two turnkey rental options. A snack bar, laundry, hot-water sanitary facilities and wellness area round out the offering; bookings are made via an online form or by phone, around 30 minutes from Dunkirk and Calais via the A16, A25 and A26 motorways.
In Boulogne-sur-Helpe, Eden Avesnois is the site of an association recognised by the French federation since 1997, opened in 2004 after four years of building work: 40 pitches around a fishing pond, a heated pool and day access open to everyone, whether members or not; dogs on a lead are admitted, on their owner's pitch. In Beaurieux, Natura, on the Domaine des Prés du Sart, runs alongside the Avesnois greenway, with 7 wooded hectares and 100 pitches; checking in at reception is compulsory before setting up, and wifi is deliberately absent from the pitches.
For a stay with turnkey rentals and proximity to the coast, La Colme Nature fits the bill. For an immersion in the countryside, beside a pond, Eden Avesnois favours a friendly, club-based atmosphere and family naturism. For a large wooded site geared towards hiking and horse riding, Natura benefits from the greenway right at its door. The three establishments lie less than an hour's drive from one another.
From Cappelle-Brouck, the Colme canal can be followed by bike as far as the Haute Colme canals and the Bourbourg canal, towards Dunkirk; Gravelines, about ten kilometres away, reveals its star-shaped fortifications designed by Vauban and its belfry, a World Heritage Site. Fishing is also possible there, with a compulsory permit.
In the Avesnois, the rivers of the countryside (the Helpe mineure, the Thure, the Solre) can be explored on foot or by mountain bike, while the Val Joly and the Eau d'Heure dam open up to water sports. The Vauban fortress of Maubeuge, the castles of Beaumont and Chimay, the textile museum of Fourmies and the pottery workshops of Sars-Poterie round out the cultural outings, close to the Belgian border.
Every for naturists campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
