The Var has three naturist campsites with different profiles, between the pine forests of the Var, the Pays de Fayence and the hinterland towards Figanières, for every type of naturist holiday.
Camping naturiste Domaine de l’Escride, rated 3 stars, with an average Google rating of 4.9 out of 5, the best score in the Var, sits amid pine forest, 20 km from Toulon. It has 54 pitches, as well as chalets, studios and mobile homes. The pool and paddling pool are open in July and August, and several naturist beaches are nearby, in addition to the Îles d’Or, 20 km away.
Camping Naturiste La Tuquette, rated 4 stars, with an average Google rating of 4.8 out of 5, occupies a 5-hectare wooded estate in the Var. It has two heated pools, a ZEN area for massages and fitness, as well as 94 pitches, 22 of which are rentals. Gliding and Lac de Saint-Cassien are among the holiday activities near this family naturist campsite, affiliated with the Fédération française de naturisme.
Camping naturiste La Haute Garduère, with an average rating of 4.1 out of 5, offers a naturist hiking trail directly on the estate, in the hinterland of the Var, away from the bustle of the coast.
The range of accommodation varies greatly from one naturist campsite to another in the Var: Domaine de l’Escride offers 54 pitches with chalets, studios and mobile homes, while La Tuquette has 94 pitches, 22 of which are rentals, for family holidays. La Haute Garduère, in Figanières, remains more low-key, geared towards hiking rather than facilities and accommodation. As for pools, l’Escride opens its own in July-August, while la Tuquette has two pools heated throughout the season.
For a stay in the pine forest with naturist beaches nearby, Domaine de l’Escride, in Belgentier, has the best rating in the department. For a family holiday with two heated pools, varied accommodation and activities near a lake, La Tuquette, in Fayence, offers the most facilities. For hiking, La Haute Garduère, in Figanières, relies on its naturist trail. Check opening dates and availability with each campsite before booking your stay in the Var.
Off the coast of Hyères, Île du Levant is home to Héliopolis, one of the very first naturist villages in France, founded in the 1930s: a boat trip from the coast of the Var, to be combined with a visit to Porquerolles and Port-Cros, the other Îles d’Or. Around Toulon, 20 km from Belgentier, the coast of the Var has numerous beaches, several of which are officially naturist, along a shoreline that stretches as far as Hyères and the calanques of Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer.
In the Pays de Fayence, near La Tuquette, Lac de Saint-Cassien is well suited to sailing, swimming and freshwater fishing, while the hilltop villages of the area, Fayence, Seillans or Callian, can be visited on foot, amid medieval lanes and viewpoints over the Estérel. Towards Figanières, in the hinterland, hiking trails cross hills and vineyards, away from the summer bustle of the coast.
Every for naturists campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
