The CGA, Centre Gymnique d’Alsace, is a naturist leisure site and club campsite in Wasselonne, in the Bas-Rhin department, 20 kilometres west of Strasbourg towards Saverne. The association is affiliated with the Fédération Française de Naturisme (FFN).
The site covers 5 hectares of meadow and orchard, with around 66 pitches in total: about fifty are reserved year-round for association members, and 16 pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents are open to day visitors during the season. Each pitch has a power point.
Access is reserved for CGA members from early April to mid-October. Day visitors are welcomed from 15 June to 31 August, with a compulsory INF-FNI licence on entry, with daily reception from 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 7pm. Outside this summer period, visits are by phone appointment only. As the site is often full, the association recommends calling ahead and booking a pitch in advance.
Founded in 1966, the association celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2026 at its traditional Fête de la Saint-Jean, and holds an inter-club pétanque tournament every year with other FFN-affiliated naturist associations in Alsace. Association life continues with a shared dinner on Saturday evenings, and the site welcomes bikers as well as naturists.
What the site says about its approach to naturism: “Club campsite affiliated with the FFN. An INF-FNI licence is compulsory for all visitors, including day visitors welcomed from 15 June to 31 August; pets are not allowed.”
The CGA runs on communal facilities managed by the association: an equipped clubhouse, a shelter with tables and benches, a communal barbecue and a tarte flambée oven, available to members and day visitors. Bread and pastries are delivered every morning except Mondays.
The sanitary blocks have hot and cold water, showers and toilets. A 2025 addition brought facilities for people with reduced mobility, a changing table and a baby bath. A dedicated dump and service point is reserved for motorhomes, and an enclosed, shaded, free car park sits at the entrance to the site, with a dedicated area for motorbikes.
All of Wasselonne’s shops are 1 kilometre from the site. Pets are not allowed on the campsite. Glass, paper and plastic recycling is organised on site, and a separate, enclosed car park keeps the site quiet near the entrance.
The CGA has a 7 x 15 metre pool and a paddling pool for younger children, as well as volleyball and beach volleyball courts and a pétanque pitch. A short fitness trail runs along the site, and a shaded playground welcomes children near the orchard, in a setting of meadow and fruit trees suited to outdoor play.
Association life sets the pace of the season: an inter-club pétanque tournament in August, bringing together the CGA and other FFN-affiliated naturist associations in Alsace, and the Fête de la Saint-Jean in mid-June, a highlight of conviviality among members.
Wasselonne lies between Strasbourg and Saverne, a starting point for many excursions: the Alsace wine route, the Northern Vosges, the Saint-Louis-Arzviller inclined plane, the Rocher de Dabo, hilltop castles, cycle paths and flower-decked villages. The region is also known for its cuisine and vineyards.
Open to members from April to mid-October; day visitors welcomed from 15 June to 31 August.
