Brittany has three club-run naturist campsites, spread across two departments: the Morbihan, with two sites, and the Côtes-d'Armor, with a small club by an estuary.
On the coast, between Belz and Erdeven, La Pinède, run by the Club Naturiste de Bretagne Sud (CNBS), gives access to a naturist beach a few kilometres away, with a hundred pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes and a well-stocked programme of activities in season, including daily petanque. Inland, near Lorient, Les Bruyères d'Arvor, a second, more low-key site, relies on club life and simplicity, with its own petanque pitch. Details of these two campsites can be found on the Morbihan page.
In Plourivo, four kilometres from Paimpol, Le Bois de Penhoat occupies around two wooded hectares on the edge of the Trieux estuary, between the Pink Granite Coast and the Emerald Coast. The site, run by the club association Naturisme en Côtes d'Armor, offers fifteen pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes across a one-hectare area. An FFN or FNI licence, costing around thirty euros a year, is required to stay there; the club, recently taken over by Pascal and Maryvonne Duyck, remains a modest, unrated establishment with a personal welcome. On site, activities stay simple and friendly: petanque, table tennis, a library and card games, complemented by hiking and mountain biking on around thirty marked trails around Plourivo, along the Trieux valley. The season is mainly centred on July and August.
For direct access to the sea and organised activities, the Morbihan campsites suit best, with the naturist beach of Kerminihy for one and club life for the other. For a quiet stay by an estuary, between hiking and fishing, Le Bois de Penhoat, in the Côtes-d'Armor, relies on its proximity to Paimpol and the Île de Bréhat. All three campsites require an FFN or FNI licence and only open in season: it's worth checking dates before booking.
The Gulf of Morbihan, its megaliths and ports, Belle-Île, Auray, Vannes and Lorient shape the discoveries around the two naturist campsites of the Morbihan, as does the Blavet valley and the thatched village of Poul-Fétan, further inland.
In the Côtes-d'Armor, the forest of the Conservatoire du littoral, which borders the Trieux estuary in Plourivo, is ideal for walks and the activities offered at the Maison de l'estuaire. Paimpol, four kilometres from Le Bois de Penhoat, opens onto its harbour, its markets and the Pointe de l'Arcouest, from where a short boat trip reaches the Île de Bréhat. The whole of the Côte du Goëlo offers numerous coves and viewpoints over the Channel, between coastal hiking and sea outings, all the way to Beauport Abbey, founded in the thirteenth century near Paimpol.
Every for naturists campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
