The La Pardière campsite is located in Château-Larcher, a small town of character in the Vienne, around 25 kilometres south of Poitiers and the Futuroscope. It is run by the Club du Soleil de Poitiers, a non-profit association affiliated with the Fédération Française de Naturisme, founded in 1971 by six families from Poitou who had taken an interest in naturism.
The club became the owner of this 10-hectare wooded site in 2008, when it had neither running water nor electricity: running water arrived in 1973, electricity in 1982, and the pool was dug in 1983. The campsite now offers twenty pitches of 100 to 150 m² for tents, caravans and motorhomes, along with three chalets to rent. It is a simple, family-friendly site with no restaurant, a central 100 m² pool and nearly 3 kilometres of waymarked trails through the woods.
Naturism is practised here in the heart of nature, including on walks through the forest: the site uses the term “randonue” to describe walking naked through the woods. Moments of togetherness are shared between association members and holidaymakers passing through during the summer season.
The campsite is open from 27 June to 6 September 2026. Pitches cannot be booked: arrivals are handled according to available spaces, in line with the club’s internal rules.
What the site says about its approach to naturism: “Camping du Club du Soleil de Poitiers, a non-profit association affiliated with the Fédération Française de Naturisme, founded in 1971. The site welcomes holidaymakers alongside its members during the season.”
Reception is open every day from 8:30am to 12:30pm and then from 2:30pm to 6:30pm. There, guests can order bread and pastries for the next day, quench their thirst at the ice cream and soft drinks bar, and get tourist information as well as wifi access near the reception area. The campsite has no restaurant on site.
The sanitary facilities include showers, washbasins, a dishwashing area and a laundry area with a washing machine. Emptying clean water from a motorhome is possible on site; grey water must be emptied in town, in Château-Larcher, a few minutes from the campsite.
The campsite provides a shared barbecue; the use of individual barbecues on pitches is prohibited for safety reasons. Two communal vegetable gardens allow guests to pick herbs and seasonal vegetables, and a library with books in several languages rounds out the services available at reception.
The internal rules and general terms and conditions, available from the club, govern the course of the stay. Payment for pitches is made on site, with no prior booking, while chalets are booked directly with the campsite.
The central pool, 1.60 m deep, covers an area of 100 m² and remains the campsite’s gathering point during the day. A clearing on the grounds is set aside for relaxation and meditation, away from the bustle. Nearly 3 kilometres of waymarked trails wind through the club’s 10 hectares of woodland, ideal for walking or naked hiking, the “randonue” so dear to the site.
For games, the campsite offers pétanque, table tennis, badminton, table football, darts and Finnish skittles, free for guests to choose from. Evenings of togetherness bring members and holidaymakers together during the season, and summer festivities are organised on certain weekends, by booking and subject to availability.
Nearby, the region invites exploration: the Futuroscope, the Vallée des Singes with its immersive animal park, Bois de Saint-Pierre zoo or the Fun Forest treetop adventure park round out the leisure offering. Hiking enthusiasts can enjoy the trails of Grand Poitiers, four GR long-distance paths crossing the Vienne and three regional GR routes nicknamed “the 3 battles”, while the Pagayous club, in Vivonne, offers canoe-kayak outings on the Clain.
Open from 27 June to 6 September.
