Overview

In Saint-Géraud-de-Corps, in the Dordogne, in the Périgord pourpre, the Domaine naturiste de Chaudeau covers 50 hectares of meadows, woodland and bodies of water, crossed by the Ruisseau Tord stream. The estate’s name comes from the central body of water, fed by numerous warm springs.

The estate offers 165 pitches split between 103 camping pitches (minimum 120 m², 6A electricity, shower block per sector) and 62 rentals, including 42 permanent ones: cabins, mobile homes and chalets for 2 to 6 people, in the Bichat, Jard and Queyrouil sectors. A 200 m² pool complements the two swimming ponds.

The estate’s charter promotes a healthy, family-oriented naturism based on simplicity, freedom and mutual respect, with particular attention paid to teenagers and beginner naturists. Any inappropriate behaviour, voyeurism or exhibitionist conduct is banned here.

The estate is open from 2 May to 27 September. The bar operates daily from 10am to midnight in high season, and the restaurant serves simple cooking based on fresh, local produce from late June to mid-September. Two highlights punctuate the summer: the carnival in early August and the show put on by the Lez’Arts cabaret.

What the site says about its approach to naturism: “Healthy, family-oriented naturism based on simplicity, freedom and mutual respect, with attention paid to teenagers and beginners. Inappropriate behaviour, voyeurism and exhibitionism are banned here.”

On the sports side, a half tennis court, a pétanque pitch, a volleyball area and badminton, basketball and football pitches are open to all campers. Archery is practised on a large range, with equipment provided. In July and August, tournaments, bingo nights, pétanque and fishing contests, and adapted gym sessions punctuate the days.

Children will find slides, swings and games near the bar terrace and the beach, under their parents’ watchful eye. In July and August, activity leaders and volunteer parents run creative workshops, large-scale games and science and nature activities for the youngest guests. The carnival in early August and the show put on by the Lez’Arts cabaret, led by William, are the summer’s two must-see events.

Four marked hiking trails of varying lengths cross the forest, the meadow and the banks of the Ruisseau Tord; guided nature walks reveal the site’s biodiversity. The large body of water is home to a good variety of fish for amateur and experienced anglers alike. Nearby, the Dordogne and Isle valleys (boat trips by gabarre or canoe), Saint-Émilion, Bergerac, Bordeaux and the market at Sainte-Foy-la-Grande round out the outings on offer, along with the wine route and several castles and prehistoric sites to visit.
