Le Champ de Guiral is tucked away in Prouilhac, 6 kilometres from the medieval town of Gourdon, in the Lot, on the boundary between Quercy and the Périgord. The campsite benefits from its proximity to major sites in South-West France: Sarlat and the Dordogne valley, Rocamadour, the Padirac chasm and Cahors, with its Pont Valentré.
Monique and Joël, both born in the Lot, run this small, family-sized campsite with an eco-responsible approach. The site has just 14 pitches: 7 bare pitches, a fixed caravan without drainage, and 6 mobile homes with private sanitary facilities. Each pitch, with a minimum area of 100 m², can be connected to electricity. For everyone’s safety and peace of mind, motor vehicles are not permitted to circulate on the site except on arrival and departure, and no fee is charged for reserving a pitch.
As for rentals, the large, high-comfort mobile homes sleep up to 4 people (one double bed or two single beds), while the classic mobile homes are limited to 2 people with one double bed. Pitch rates range from €18.65 to €27.80 per night depending on the season.
The campsite is open from 22 May to 21 September, with a heated pool and a sauna accessible three times a week. People with reduced mobility are explicitly welcome, and the campsite received the Camping2Be Award 2026.
What the site says about its approach to naturism: “Small, family-run naturist campsite of a manageable size, run by its owners; an eco-responsible approach is a stated priority.”
The pool at Le Champ de Guiral is heated, allowing guests to enjoy a swim even outside the hottest summer days and extending the swimming season beyond high summer. A sauna rounds out the wellness offering, with three sessions a week, on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday, at this small establishment where the welcome stays personal.
Catering remains family-run and homemade, prepared by Monique and Joël with fresh produce and often vegetables from their own garden. The programme varies each week to avoid monotony: pizza on Tuesday evening, a restaurant meal on Thursday evening, a communal barbecue on Saturday evening, and on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, a hearty plate known as the “Guiralaise” can be ordered as an extra, for evenings without an organised meal.
Wi-Fi and a laundry room are available to holidaymakers, and access is provided for people with reduced mobility, both on the pitches and in the sanitary facilities. All pitches offer a possible electrical hook-up on a minimum area of 100 m², and pets are welcome for an additional charge. The campsite charges no fee for reserving a pitch, a deliberate choice by the owners to keep holidays free of nasty surprises or hidden costs.
At Le Champ de Guiral, campsite life centres above all on shared meals and encounters between holidaymakers, in a family-friendly, relaxed atmosphere typical of small sites where everyone ends up knowing each other. The week’s themed evenings, from pizza to a restaurant meal to Saturday’s communal barbecue, are an opportunity to get to know fellow campers around the table, in a convivial spirit rather than a packed activity programme.
To keep active on site, the campsite offers a table-tennis table, a pétanque court for enthusiasts and a playground for children, as well as a barbecue and picnic area to share with neighbouring pitches. Plenty to keep young and old busy without leaving the grounds, between dips in the heated pool.
The location in the Lot also opens up many excursion possibilities: the medieval town of Sarlat and the Dordogne valley, the holy town of Rocamadour perched on its cliff, the spectacular Padirac chasm, or Cahors with its fortified Pont Valentré, all reachable as a day trip from the campsite. Plenty to alternate calmly between relaxing on the pitch and visiting the heritage sites of Quercy and the neighbouring Périgord.
Open from 22 May to 21 September.
