Overview

Camping Les Aillos spans over 5 hectares of wooded, shaded grounds in Caraman, in the Haute-Garonne, at the heart of the Pays Lauragais, between Toulouse and Castelnaudary. Toulouse city centre is 40 minutes away (28 km from the ring road), Villefranche-de-Lauragais train station 24 minutes away, and Carcassonne or the Canal du Midi about an hour away. Access by car is via the D826 from Toulouse, with the campsite clearly signposted at the entrance to the village of Caraman; for travellers arriving by train, the team helps organise onward travel from the station, by taxi or carpool.

The campsite cultivates a family naturism practised with discretion, in a tolerant, friendly atmosphere. A member of the Fédération Française de Naturisme, it follows the organisation’s code of good practice and holds the Camping Qualité, Qualité Tourisme and Qualité Tourisme Occitanie labels; it is also listed on Naturisme.fr.

Accommodation options range from air-conditioned mobile homes to a three-bedroom chalet, including an ecolodge without sanitary facilities for a closer-to-nature stay, and bare or equipped pitches of at least 80 m², all connected to electricity at no extra charge. Betty and Xavier welcome holidaymakers throughout the season.

Rated 4 stars, Camping Les Aillos is open from 27 April to 30 September.

What the site says about its approach to naturism: “Family naturism practised with discretion and tolerance; the Fédération Française de Naturisme’s code of good practice is available for consultation at reception.”

The heated outdoor pool is open daily from 10am to 8pm, from April to October. It comprises a large main pool and a second, 40-centimetre-deep pool, better suited to young children without being a true paddling pool. There are no slides or water games here: the site focuses on calm, good water quality and a large sun terrace fitted with loungers for relaxing.

The campsite’s snack bar opens daily during peak season, from midday to 1:30pm and then from 7pm to 9pm, serving dishes to enjoy on the terrace or take away: chicken strip salad, confit Toulouse sausage or fish and chips. From mid-June to mid-September, fresh bread and pastries can be ordered the day before by 7pm at reception and collected from 8:30am. The village of Caraman, 3 km away, rounds out the offering with a supermarket, a bakery, a pharmacy, a butcher, a wine merchant and a market on Thursday mornings.

Wi-Fi is free in the communal areas, including the bar terrace, and an equipped laundry room (washing machine, dryer, iron) is available; only the bed linen kit is charged (€12), while baby equipment is loaned free of charge. Three sanitary blocks, a baby area and a block accessible to people with reduced mobility complete the facilities, with electrical adapters loaned on request. Dogs are welcome, one per accommodation, for an additional charge of €2.50 on a pitch or €4 in a rental.

The spirit of the campsite lies in its small shared moments: an impromptu drink on the terrace, a game of pétanque between neighbouring pitches, or a walk through the wooded park. As for facilities, a pétanque court welcomes enthusiasts, outdoor “body boomers” fitness equipment allows for open-air workouts, a table-tennis table (bats available at reception) awaits players, and the common room houses a pool table and table football for relaxing indoors.

From mid-July to mid-August, two regular evenings liven things up: on Tuesdays, a barbecue evening where everyone brings their own meat while the campsite provides chips and drinks, in a guinguette atmosphere; on Thursdays, drinks with live music from 7pm, to kick off the evening in style. These moments take place in a family-friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

The youngest guests have their own playground, fitted with a slide and a climbing structure, in the shade of the grounds’ trees. For an outing beyond the campsite, the pink city of Toulouse can be visited in 40 minutes, as can the city of Carcassonne or the banks of the Canal du Midi, around an hour away, allowing you to alternate relaxing on site with getaways in the South-West.
