Overview

Les Hespérides occupies 3.3 hectares of greenery on the Chemin des Vaugibourgs, in Étréchy in the Essonne, 40 km south of Paris and close to the upper Juine valley with its Natura 2000 protected sites. Founded in 1958 by Lucien Auzias, president of the Compagnons Campeurs de France, it is one of the oldest naturist clubs in the Île-de-France region, becoming a non-profit association under the 1901 law in 1977.

The site is managed and maintained by year-round members who own 73 plots split between chalets and caravans. Seven pitches for tents, caravans or motorhomes are reserved for visitors in the entrance meadow, on flat ground accessible to people with disabilities; four caravans, a small chalet and a trailer caravan can also be rented by the night.

This member-run, volunteer-based setup creates a friendly, family atmosphere. The club has been affiliated with the Fédération Française de Naturisme (FFN) since it was founded: the FFN card is required of all year-round members and of visitors from their third visit onward, from age 15, and minors are admitted only with written permission from their parents.

The site is open from 1 May to 31 October, every day from 9am to noon and from 1pm to 7pm.

What the site says about its approach to naturism: “Club affiliated with the Fédération Française de Naturisme (FFN) since 1958. The FFN card is required of year-round members and of visitors from their third visit onward, from age 15.”

Facilities

🧖Sauna
🍦Ice cream parlour
🧊Fridge rental
📶Free wifi

The outdoor pool, with its sunbathing lawn and sun loungers, and the sauna, a six-person cabin, are open to both day visitors and residents; the sauna runs on weekends and public holidays once four people have signed up on the facilities board. A shaded terrace faces the pool for a drink or an ice cream, and shared fridges and freezers are available to campers.

The camping pitches have electric hook-ups (230V, 6A) and nearby drinking water points. Wi-Fi, included with rentals, is available at the pool and reception, but not elsewhere on site, out of consideration for residents’ peace and quiet. A disposable bed linen kit can be requested at reception for those arriving without their own bedding.

Dogs are tolerated, strictly on condition they stay within their owner member’s pitch: a day visitor without a personal pitch therefore cannot bring an animal. Quiet hours run from 10pm to 7am, and fires and barbecues may be banned temporarily during heatwaves. Étréchy town centre, 1 km away, rounds out the offer with bakeries, butchers, pharmacies and a supermarket.

The association organises themed evenings year-round in a friendly atmosphere: a mussels-and-chips night, méchoui, cabaret evenings, cocktail evenings, plus tarot, badminton and pétanque tournaments (including the traditional Coupe du Lapin Bleu). The 2026 calendar adds an opening barbecue party, a summer solstice ball, open-air cinema, a table tennis tournament and a club fair in September.

Beyond the scheduled events, several activities are available on site at any time: aqua gym, jogging, mountain biking, cellular concrete sculpture, table tennis and water games in the pool. The full programme can be found in the activity calendar published by the club each season.

8 km away, the Étampes leisure park rounds out the offer with a five-hectare lake for fishing, canoe-kayaking and pedal boats, a wave pool with a giant slide, a climbing wall, archery, mini-golf, a skatepark and a pony club. Chamarande Castle, a historic monument set in a 93-hectare park, is less than 4 km away, and Paris, well served by the RER C line, is just 40 km away.
