The Éden residence is a 1.8-hectare naturist holiday residence, built between 1995 and 2001, on the Île de la Corrège at Port Leucate, in the Aude department. It is part of the Leucate naturist village, which spans 45 hectares and includes several neighbouring residences: Le Mas de la Plage, Ulysse, Aphrodite, Oasis, Vénus and La Jetée.
The residence offers 118 duplex mezzanine mini-villas (type T2 with cabin, around 27 sqm, for 4 to 5 people) and 44 duplex mezzanine villas (type T2 or T3, for 4 to 6 people), all fitted with a kitchenette, a shower room and a private terrace with a parking space. The mezzanines house a double bed, and some cabins an extra bunk bed.
Éden sits between the Mas de la Plage residential village and the Ulysse residence, with direct access to the supervised Leucate naturist beach. The Pénélope restaurant, at the Ulysse residence, is 200 metres away, and the oyster harbour 300 metres away.
The Club Naturiste Éden, an association founded on 15 August 1996 and affiliated with the Fédération Française de Naturisme, used to hold evening events on site; it has now ceased its activities, and naturist evenings now take place at the neighbouring Pénélope restaurant.
What the site says about its approach to naturism: “Naturist holiday residence with villa rentals, within the Leucate naturist village. The former Club Naturiste Éden, affiliated with the FFN since 1996, has ceased its activities; evenings now take place at the neighbouring restaurant.”
Each villa has a large terrace of around 5 x 3 metres with a private parking space in front, an equipped kitchenette (hob, fridge, electric oven, sink) and a washing machine. The shower rooms are tiled in glazed stoneware, and some villas offer satellite television and a private phone line.
On the residence, the naturist beach is supervised in season and equipped with beach showers. A pétanque court and a car park are also available to residents. The Leucate naturist village is entirely pedestrian: vehicles are left in free car parks on the outskirts, keeping the village’s lanes clear for holidaymakers.
The Éden residence has no bar or restaurant on site: to eat, the Pénélope restaurant at the neighbouring Ulysse residence is 200 metres away, and Leucate’s oyster harbour, for seafood, 300 metres away. Bookings and rental listings go through the residence’s contact form or through the village’s partner naturist agencies.
On the residence, a pétanque court is available to holidaymakers, and the supervised naturist beach bordering Éden allows swimming right from the villas. The Leucate naturist village borders over a kilometre of wild, supervised beach, between the Grau de Leucate and the harbour entrance.
At the scale of the Leucate naturist village, of which Éden is part, residents can also enjoy tennis courts, swimming pools, volleyball courts, a watersports base for windsurfing and canoeing, and table tennis tables, spread across the various neighbouring residences. The whole village is pedestrian: cars stay in free car parks on the outskirts.
The surroundings offer an unspoilt natural setting, with nearly 300 days of sunshine a year: the Narbonnaise en Méditerranée regional nature park spreads around the Leucate lagoon, and the neighbouring oyster harbour lets visitors discover the local production of oysters and shellfish, 300 metres from the residence.
