The Centre-Val de Loire region has three naturist campsites, spread across two departments: the Indre, with a large wooded estate and a small family site, and Indre-et-Loire, with a club-based association close to Tours.
In the Brenne Regional Nature Park, in Luzeret, a 42-hectare estate relies on wide open spaces, freely roaming horses and pond fishing. In Poulaines, a half-hectare campsite, attached to a guest house, offers a more relaxed approach to naturism, with no obligation to be permanently nude. Details of these two sites can be found on the Indre page.
Founded in 1967 at the site known as Bois des Forges, in Cléré-les-Pins, the Club du Soleil de Touraine occupies 8 wooded hectares, 25 kilometres from Tours. Rated 2 stars, recognised by the Fédération française de naturisme and affiliated with the Fédération française de camping et de caravaning, it is above all a club-based association: it stays open all year round for its members, but also welcomes non-member holidaymakers in season, from 7 June to 6 September, across thirty pitches and three rooms for rent, one of which is adapted for people with reduced mobility. The heated pool, refurbished in 2023 with a paddling pool, a ten-hole mini-golf course and a petanque pitch round out the sports offering, while bike outings and club life set the rhythm out of season, all the way to the nearby Loire Valley.
For a large estate in the heart of nature, the Indre campsite set in the Brenne park offers the widest setting. For a club stay, with room accommodation and club life, the Club du Soleil de Touraine, close to Tours and the Loire Valley, suits a more structured welcome. The third site, in Poulaines, remains the lightest option for a short stop. All three campsites close outside their respective seasons: it's worth checking dates before booking.
The Brenne Regional Nature Park, the land of the 'thousand ponds', and the Loire Valley, with its castles and the Touraine wine route, form the region's two major areas of discovery, on either side of the naturist campsites of Centre-Val de Loire. Tours, 25 km from the Club du Soleil de Touraine, opens onto the banks of the Loire, local markets and the castles of the Loire Valley, to explore by car as much as by bike.
Further south, in the Indre, Beauval Zoo, one of the region's major attractions, is easily reached from Poulaines thanks to quick access to the A20 motorway. The Berry and Touraine regions, on either side of the Indre, round out the possibilities for day trips from either of the region's campsites.
Every for naturists campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
