Naturist Corsica: the estates of the east coast and the south of the island

Key takeaways

  • Corsica has 8 naturist campsites in our selection, concentrated in two areas: the eastern plain around Bravone and the south around Porto-Vecchio.
  • Around Bravone, six estates open directly onto very long sandy naturist beaches, up to 5 km.
  • Near Porto-Vecchio, La Chiappa faces the Cerbicale islands, and U Furu offers mountain naturism beside a river with waterfalls.
  • The season is long: June and September combine warm sea and fewer visitors.

Long sandy beaches, maquis, crystal-clear water: Corsica is one of Europe’s most sought-after naturist destinations. Its estates are concentrated in two very different areas that are worth knowing before you choose. For the general rules, see our guide to naturist camping.

The east coast: Bravone and Linguizzetta

On the eastern plain, between Bastia and Porto-Vecchio, the commune of Linguizzetta and its seafront of Bravone line up six naturist estates facing the sea, a few kilometres from Aléria, the island’s ancient Roman capital. The coast offers very long, gently sloping sandy beaches, ideal with children.

Estate Rating What sets it apart
Bagheera 4 stars 100 ha of eucalyptus forest, 5 km of beach, wellness area facing the sea, adventure course
Riva Bella 4 stars 70 ha between the sea and the Terrenzana lagoon, 500 m² thalasso area, llama park
Calella 4 stars Premium bungalows, two padel courts, mini farm
Les Eucalyptus n/a 10 ha eucalyptus forest, 250 pitches, 5 km of adjoining beach
Club Corsicana n/a 6 ha, 4 km of beach, sailing school and catamaran, open-air cinema
Corsica Natura 2 stars 98 pitches, bungalows for 2 to 8 people, seafront restaurant

For a first family stay, large estates such as Bagheera and Riva Bella offer everything on site. Riva Bella, backing onto the Terrenzana lagoon protected by the Conservatoire du littoral, will also appeal to nature lovers. Smaller sites, such as Les Eucalyptus or Corsica Natura, suit those looking for a simpler atmosphere.

The south: Porto-Vecchio, between sea and mountains

La Chiappa covers 60 hectares of pine forest and maquis by the sea, on the road to Palombaggia, facing the Cerbicale islands and the Bouches de Bonifacio nature reserve. Open for more than fifty years, the village offers 270 pitches and air-conditioned bungalows, two pools with sea views, three restaurants and a diving club established in 1981. It is one of the sites in our selection with a clothed area.

U Furu offers a completely different Corsica: 30 hectares in the Furcone valley, at the foot of the Alta Rocca, 8 km from the sea. The river that crosses the estate forms waterfalls and natural pools, and accommodation is in small stone houses, the “Casetti”, or on large shaded pitches. The centre is a member of the French Naturist Federation.

How to choose

  • For endless beaches: the east coast, where several estates open directly onto the sand with no road to cross.
  • For coves and diving: the Porto-Vecchio area, with La Chiappa.
  • For coolness and mountains: U Furu and its natural pools, a good option in high summer.
  • For well-being: Riva Bella and its thalasso area, or Bagheera and its wellness area facing the sea.

Planning your stay

  • Getting there: the east coast is about fifty kilometres south of Bastia; Bagheera is 42 km from Bastia-Poretta airport. The south is reached via Porto-Vecchio or Figari airport.
  • Season: June and September offer a warm sea, fewer visitors and crossings that are easier to book than in August.
  • Sun and wind: sun protection is essential, and the wind can pick up quickly on the coast.
  • Crossing: in high season, book your ferry or flight at the same time as your accommodation.
