Everything about the campsites for naturists in Hérault

Hérault brings together six naturist campsites with very different profiles: two by the sea, at Cap d’Agde and Sérignan-Plage, two by fresh water, at Lake Salagou and on the banks of a river of the same name, and two inland, at Lodève and in the Minervois wine country. The region is also the historic birthplace of naturism in France.

On the coast: Cap d’Agde and Sérignan-Plage

The Centre Naturiste René Oltra, at Cap d’Agde, is a pioneer founded in 1956: this 4-star campsite is 100 metres from the beach, on a 39-hectare wooded park planted with 7,000 trees, with a mini club and a teens’ club for ages 5 to 17. Le Sérignan Plage Nature, rated 5 stars, offers direct access to the coast, awarded the Blue Flag, and a 2,800 m² Greco-Roman spa complex, with daily aquagym and a free club for ages 4 to 12; beginners can discover naturism there in a cottage.

By fresh water: Lake Salagou and the Hérault river

In Octon, Camping Le Village du Bosc occupies a site classified since 1971, with a view over Lake Salagou; this family campsite with 58 pitches rents Cylhor bungalows, unusual cabins, and accepts dogs. In Aniane, La Source Saint Pierre borders the river directly, close to the Pont du Diable gorges: open for 50 years, this family campsite has a heated pool, a paddling pool, slides and a jacuzzi, as well as a bar-restaurant.

Inland: Lodève and the Minervois

Domaine de Lambeyran, in Lodève, presents itself as the largest naturist area in Europe with 348 hectares designated Natura 2000, at the gateway to the Cévennes; this 3-star campsite has 130 pitches, 100 of them with electricity, as well as 8 mobile homes, 2 chalets and a gîte, around a heated pool at the bottom of the valley. Le Mas de Lignières, in Cesseras, approved by the French Naturist Federation since 1987, offers 28 pitches between scrubland and Minervois vineyards, with a sliding-cover pool and a paddling pool, 3 km from Minerve and not far from the Canal du Midi.

Choosing a naturist campsite

For a seaside holiday with a wide choice of activities and entertainment, the two coastal establishments offer the most services, between the seafront, a spa complex and kids’ clubs. For a peaceful stay, between lake and river, Octon and Aniane suit families looking for freshwater swimming. For nature and space, Lodève and the Minervois offer a wilder setting, between mountains and vineyards.

What to see and do in Hérault

Lake Salagou, in Octon, is a remarkable geological site: its red earth hills, known as ruffes, contrast with the blue of the water and the black volcanic rocks that bear witness to the region’s eruptive past. The surroundings have several villages of character, such as Villeneuvette, Salasc or Mérifons, and are suited to hiking, cycling and water sports on the lake.

At Cap d’Agde, the black sand beach and the basalt-stone village round out the offer of the coastal campsites. In the Minervois, around Le Mas de Lignières, Minerve overlooks the Cesse and Brian gorges, and the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, can be explored by bike or rented boat. Near Aniane, the Pont du Diable gorges offer river swimming and hiking.

our method

How we select the campsites in this localisation

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every for naturists campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
