34 listed naturist campsites offer a heated pool, usually between 25 and 29 °C, sometimes indoor for year-round swimming. Swimming there is done nude, just as on the rest of the site, with occasional tolerance for textile visitors or children depending on each site's house rules. The heating season usually runs from spring to autumn, from April to October.
Twelve campsites in the region have a heated pool. In Gironde, Euronat and CHM Monta, in Grayan-et-l'Hôpital and Vendays-Montalivet, both combine an indoor pool and a water park by the ocean, while La Jenny in Le Porge heats its four pools to 25 °C. In Dordogne, Le Couderc in Naussannes heats its pool from 15 April to 15 October, and Domaine Laborde, between Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne, has five pools, including a heated subtropical one. Camping du Lac de Lislebonne, in Réaup-Lisse, heats its indoor pool to 28 °C in addition to its private lake, and Creuse Nature Naturisme, in Boussac, offers two heated pools, one of them indoor.
Nine campsites in Occitanie heat their pool. In Gard, Domaine de la Sablière and Domaine de La Genèse, both in the Cèze gorges, combine a heated pool and a water slide with direct river access. In Hérault, Le Sérignan Plage Nature heats its pool in addition to direct access to a Blue Flag beach, and La Source Saint Pierre, in Aniane, adds a water slide and a jacuzzi by the Hérault river. In Ariège, Millefleurs in Gudas combines a heated pool with a Nordic bath at the foot of the Pyrenees.
Seven campsites in the region offer a heated pool. Domaine de Bélézy in Bédoin has three, with views of Mont Ventoux, and Verdon Provence, in Esparron-de-Verdon, heats its pool by the lake. Les Lauzons, near Forcalquier, adds water slides to its heated pool, and Le Haut Chandelalar, in Briançonnet, heats its pool with wood. Origan Village, in Puget-Théniers, heats its pool to 28 °C by the river.
Five other regions have one or two campsites with a heated pool: pont d'Adèle in Isère and Les Fourneaux in Allier (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), Club du Soleil de Touraine in Centre-Val de Loire, Domaine de la Gagère in the Morvan Regional Park (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté), Eden Avesnois in Hauts-de-France and Village La Chiappa in Corse-du-Sud.
The listed temperature varies from site to site, between 25 and 29 °C depending on the season and sunshine, and some campsites close their heated pool outside the April to October period. An indoor pool stays accessible even in cool weather, a criterion worth checking for a stay outside the height of summer.
Before booking, check the exact heating period: some campsites heat their pool as early as April through mid-October, others only in July and August. An indoor pool allows swimming even in cool weather or outside the high season, unlike an unsheltered outdoor pool.
Nudity at the poolside remains the norm at a naturist campsite: swimming there is done nude. Some sites nonetheless tolerate day visitors in swimwear or children who prefer to keep theirs on, as at Creuse Nature Naturisme; check with the site if you're travelling with young children or non-naturist relatives.
Also check whether the heated pool is paired with other water facilities: water slides, a separate paddling pool for young children, jacuzzi or spa. Several sites combine a heated pool with a river or lake shore, a useful option on a cool day when the heated pool takes over from swimming in natural water.
