Nouvelle-Aquitaine brings together 21 naturist campsites across ten départements: it is the French region with the most naturist holiday addresses, from the Atlantic coast to the hills of the Limousin.

On the coast, between Gironde, Charente-Maritime and Landes

The Gironde alone has four naturist campsites, including three large villages on the Atlantic coast and a more intimate estate in the vineyards of the Entre-Deux-Mers. One of them claims nearly 200 activities a week on its own, a restaurant and around thirty on-site shops. In Charente-Maritime, two family campsites each focus on a heated indoor pool, one in the Marais Poitevin, the other close to the beaches of Les Mathes-La Palmyre. In the Landes, Camping Naturiste Arnaoutchot, at Vielle-Saint-Girons, covers 45 hectares of pine forest with three direct beach accesses, a water park with three pools and slides, a 5,000m² spa and three clubs for children and teenagers in high season: a naturist village rated 4 stars.

In the Périgord and the Quercy, between Dordogne, Corrèze and Lot-et-Garonne

The Dordogne brings together five naturist campsites, including the Domaine de Chaudeau, at Saint-Géraud-de-Corps, and its warm-spring lake, mainly in the Périgord noir, amid forests, old farmhouses and stretches of water. In Corrèze, two establishments share the Vézère valley and the Dordogne valley, near Collonges-la-Rouge. Lot-et-Garonne in turn has two campsites built around water, around a private lake and several heated pools, on the edge of the neighbouring Dordogne.

Inland, between Limousin and Poitou

Haute-Vienne has two naturist campsites in the heart of the Limousin: one, an association-run site, near Limoges, with activities organised by its club; the other on the shore of Lake Maulde. In Creuse, Creuse Nature Naturisme, at Boussac, covers 19 hectares with two heated pools, a private fishing pond and a free sauna every evening, without requiring a naturist card. In Vienne, the campsite of the Club du Soleil de Poitiers, at Château-Larcher, welcomes holidaymakers and members across 10 hectares of woodland, around a central pool and waymarked trails. In the Deux-Sèvres, finally, the Ferme naturiste L'Oliverie, at Saurais, offers unusual rentals, a few pitches, a heated pool and a hammam-spa area accessible to people with reduced mobility. These last three campsites all receive very favourable reviews from their guests, between 4.6 and 4.7 out of 5.

Choosing your naturist destination

For a family holiday by the ocean, the Gironde, Charente-Maritime and the Landes concentrate the largest villages and the longest naturist beaches. For a stay combining heritage and nature, the Dordogne, Corrèze and Lot-et-Garonne offer private lakes, caves and bastide towns nearby. For a more association-based, low-key form of naturism, Haute-Vienne, Creuse, Vienne and the Deux-Sèvres offer human-scale facilities, often run by clubs affiliated with the Fédération française de naturisme.
